WHO IS MARY SANDOVAL

Mrs. Sandoval, a resident of the City of Fontana for over 60 years, was elected to the Fontana Unified School District Board of Education in November 2014.  She is seeking a new term as trustee area 5 board member in November 2026.

She has been married for over 38 years to her husband Jesse and have 3 adult children; Jesus Jr., Maria Teresa, Maria Cecelia, son-in-law Willie and grandchildren: Giselle, Christopher and Francisco. Her family including: Uncles, Aunts, Brothers, Children, Son-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews have all attended and graduated from Fontana Schools. Mrs. Sandoval's great-nieces and great-nephews are currently attending as well.

She is retired from MTC Inland Empire Job Corps Center in San Bernardino.  She was employed as an Academic Programs Administrator. Over the last 16 years, Mrs. Sandoval has seen a decline in numeracy and literacy of the incoming students. This inspired her to run for Fontana Unified School District Board of Education.

As an FUSD Board member, she is committed to:

  • Ensure all students are academically prepared for their future endeavors

  • Ensure that all FUSD employees have the tools they need to be successful in performing their jobs

  • Streamline the process for special needs students to receive services

Mrs. Sandoval will always have an open door and lend a listening ear to all student and parent concerns. She and her family share a deep love for our community, and she is committed to ensuring that all students in Fontana have bright futures ahead of them.

CAMPAIGN MISSION

Empowering Every Student

My mission is to empower every student through equitable access to resources and opportunities. Education should be a right, not a privilege, and I am committed to advocating for policies that support this belief. Together, we can create an inclusive educational system that nurtures talent and promotes success for all students, regardless of their background.
